Before the beginning of the summer period, which for many represents a time of slowing down and rest, a piece of news arrived that brought great satisfaction to the entire authorial team of the work Commercial Code. Commentary, published by C.H. Beck.

The publication, prepared under the leadership of the chief editors Regina Hučková, Martin Kubinec, and Peter Lukáčka, has become the best-selling academic publication of the publishing house in 2025. This result is seen as a significant expression of the professional community’s interest in systematic and high-quality works in the field of commercial law.

The work was created by a broad team of authors composed of leading experts from both academia and legal practice. The authors include members of the domestic department (Ján Husár, Diana Treščáková, Jaroslav Dolný, Žofia Mrázová, Laura Bachňáková, Simona Rudohradská, Michal Sokol, Oliver Buhala, Dušan Rostáš), as well as members of the Department of Commercial and Economic Law at the Faculty of Law of Matej Bel University and Comenius University, along with professionals working in the judiciary, legal practice, and the banking sector. It is precisely the combination of academic expertise and practical experience that made it possible to create a commentary reflecting both theoretical requirements and the needs of everyday legal practice.

This is an extensive collective work, created with the ambition to provide the most comprehensive and practically usable interpretation of individual provisions of the Commercial Code. In its preparation, the authors relied on relevant case law, available scholarly literature, and their own professional experience, with emphasis placed on linking theoretical foundations with real-world application.

The result is a publication intended for a broad audience, including attorneys, judges, notaries, academics, and law students, with the ambition to serve not only as an interpretative source but also as a practical guide for solving everyday issues of commercial law.

The achieved success is primarily the result of the dedicated work of all co-authors, to whom sincere thanks are due for their professional contribution, time, and effort devoted to the creation of the work. Appreciation is also extended to the publishing house for its trust, support, and professional guidance throughout the entire project from its inception to final publication.

We also greatly value the interest and support of the professional community, whose feedback and trust represent the most important confirmation of the meaning and value of such scholarly publishing activity.

We believe that the Commercial Code. Commentary will continue to contribute to the development of legal science, the cultivation of legal reasoning, and the improvement of legal practice in the field of commercial law.
