On 28 November 2025, the Faculty of Law of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice hosted another edition of the Student Symposium, organised by the Department of Commercial and Business Law and the Department of Labour Law and Social Security Law. This year’s symposium focused on the theme “Case Law of Judicial Authorities in Private Law II”, building on last year’s successful format centred on analytical work with judicial decisions. The event addressed topics within the fields of commercial, labour, and IT law.
A total of 13 students participated in this year’s symposium, delivering a number of inspiring presentations in which they analysed selected judicial decisions. Under the guidance of their academic supervisors, the students examined case law of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic, the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic, and the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic.
In their contributions, participants identified current legal issues, critically assessed the courts’ reasoning, and highlighted the significance of these decisions for legal practice. The presentations were divided into four sections, each concluding with substantive and thought-provoking discussions.
We extend our sincere thanks to all participating students for their contributions, expert analyses, and inspiring presentations, as well as to all attendees for their active engagement and valuable discussions. Written papers will soon be made available on the faculty’s website.
The symposium was held as part of the research project APVV-23-0331.
