In May and June 2021, three introductory online meetings took place within the series of webinars “SCIENCE MEETS BUSINESS” dedicated to the presentation of the results of basic research and their potential use with the support of the CasProt project. The aim of the webinars is to connect science and private industry, basic research with possible real outputs, thanks to mutual interaction and awareness, building partnerships between academia, sector, and the private high-tech industry. Webinars will continue in an English version in the autumn of 2021 at regular two-week intervals.
The lecturer of the pilot webinar on the topic Application of zeta potential in the development of biopharmaceutical suspensions was Dr. Gabriel Žoldák, from the Center for Interdisciplinary Biosciences, TIP-UPJŠ. He was followed by Assoc. Prof. Erik Sedlák, Head of the Center for Interdisciplinary Biosciences, with a webinar focused on the Production and development of proteins for biotechnological and pharmaceutical purposes. The third webinar was successfully presented by Prof. Pavol Miškovský, Director of TIP-UPJŠ, who also offered a different view and presented the development and use of the unique PickMol ™ nanotechnology during the presentation. The topic of this webinar was “PickMol ™ Technology”: Technology breakthrough for environment & industry.

The webinars were attended by representatives of the private sector, universities, and science parks from Slovakia and the Czech Republic. We believe that with the new webinars, we will welcome other international partners who bring the potential for future cooperation between the academic sector and the private industry. The CasProt project undoubtedly plays an important role in this solution/ implementation and thus strengthens the development of top technologies and the innovation potential of our university, while the expected impact is not only for the region of eastern Slovakia but also for the whole country
