In support of the development of international cooperation, the members of the Department regularly attend annual meetings of Departments of Commercial Law of the Czech and Slovak Universities aimed to stimulate discussion revolving around teaching, legislative projects and practical Commercial-Law related issues. These meetings are also accompanied by a scientific conference inviting the dissemination of research findings of members of individual departments. Up to the present day, the Department has convened two meetings, in 2006 and 2015.
In close cooperation with the Faculty of Law of the University of Trnava, the Department organized several other conferences targeted at the ongoing research and current trends in the development of legal regulation of Commercial Law institutes. These conferences have always been much favoured considering the attractive location of the Smolenice castle. Last conference with the participation of the Department was held in 2018.
Within the research supported under the VEGA scheme, the Department organized two conferences in Stará Lesná in 2007 and in 2008 on the topic The present and the perspectives of legal regulation of Contracts I and II. Noteworthy is also the cooperation with the Faculty of Law at the University of Lodz, initiated by prof. Suchoža owing to his professional relations with prof. Cezary Kosikowsky, and enhanced also by dr. Vykročová who established close cooperation especially with prof. Prominska and prof. Kattner. A new avenue for cooperation was opened with the University of Silesia in Katowice between prof. Pinior and prof. Husár in the name of our Department.
