The Department of Labour Law and Social Security Law actively cooperates with departments of its kind at home and abroad. Last year the Department established collaboration with the Department of Agricultural Law and Labour Law of the Faculty of State and Law of the University of Miskolc in Hungary which initiated several exchanges of visits between the members of both departments. Their aspirations in the immediate future include cooperation in publishing and research within their research projects. Close cooperation exists between the natural partners in the Czech Republic and Poland and in the Ukraine based on which the Department in collaboration with its foreign partners seeks funding for their planned projects within the grant schemes (APVV).
Crucially important for the Department of Labour Law and Social Security Law is the cooperation with legal practitioners. Last year the Department entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the company U. S. Steel Košice, s.r.o. and the company IEE Sensing Slovakia, s.r.o. with the ultimate goal to apply the results of their research in practice and at the same time search practice inspiration for future direction of legal science. This cooperation entails hosting informal personal breakfast meetings that promote lively discussion about current labour law issues.
