On Monday, January 21, 2019, a delegation from the Russian Academy of Sciences visited the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. The initial meeting took place in the premises of the Faculty of Science in Jesenná str. 5, and it was attended by the representatives of the university, its faculties and university departments, by the guests from the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimirov Sukharev and Dimitri Svetogorov, by the president of the United Research and Science Center Košice Michal Jank, and by the members of the center Peter Iatsyshyn and Viliam Závodský.
After the initial meeting the guests visited the offices of the TIP – UPJŠ, the Promatech and the Technicom university science parks. Subsequently, the Russian delegation and the representatives of the university visited the Faculty of Medicine and the Medipark university science park in Trieda SNP 1. The joint meeting was attended by the bursar of the university RNDr. Ing. Michal Tkáč, PhD., by the Vice-Rector for Science, Research, and the PhD. Study Prof. RNDr. Peter Fedoročko, CSc., by the Vice-Rector for International Relations and Mobility doc. Ing. Silvia Ručinská, PhD., by the Advisor to the Rector in the implementation of the Medipark project and in the field of transfer of research results and know-how into practice MVDr. Ján Rosocha, CSc., by the Dean of the Faculty of Science prof. RNDr. Gabriel Semanišin, PhD., by the Director of the Technology and Innovation Park Prof. RNDr. Pavol Miškovský, DrSc., by Dr. h. c. prof. RNDr. Alexander Feher, DrSc. from the PROMATECH Research Center, by the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine doc. MVDr. Monika Halanová, PhD., mim. prof., by the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. RNDr. Renáta Oriňaková, DrSc. and by the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Arts Prof. PhDr. Marián Andričík, PhD. The aim of the visit was to present the possibilities of cooperation in the scientific and research area between the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice with a focus on the use of the potential of our university scientific parks.
