Košice is becoming a major hub for biomedical innovation, thanks in part to collaboration between the academic and technology sectors, which is enabling the development of innovative solutions in the field of digital health.

A team from the Department of Physical Chemistry, Institute od Chemistry, Faculty of Science, P. J. Šafárik University in Košice, led by Associate Professor Šišoláková, received the Slovakia Innovation and Startup Awards (SISA Awards 2026) for research and development in the field of electrochemical sensors and biomedical technologies.
