The announcement of the nominees for Slovakia’s Woman of the Year 2019, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Bratislava, on Monda the 28th of January 2019, has kicked off the 11th year of the poll.
The poll is announced by the STAR production company, s.r.o. The patronage of this year’s poll was taken over by the President of the Slovak Republic Andrej Kiska. The cadidates for the title of Slovakia’s Woman of the Year 2019 have been selected by the nomination committee. Among many candidates in the Science and Research category, Professor Renáta Oriňáková from the Institute of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, P.J.Šafárik University in Košice has been selected as one of the three nominees.

The decision of the committee was based on Professor Oriňáková’s outstanding career results and achievements.
For the first 10 years Slovakia’s Woman of the Year poll consisted of eight categories. This year the number has increased to nine: Business and Management, Arts and Culture, Media and Communication, Science and Research, Education, Support of Young Talents, Healthcare, Sports and Charity. The nomination committee will also this year award the title of Slovakia’s Absolute Womant of the Year (Absolútna Slovenka roka) a Mimoriadne ocenenie za celoživotný prínos pre Slovensko.??
Successful Slovak women, who will receive an award in the individual categories will be presented to the public on the 5th of May 2019 at a gala evening in the new building of the Slovak National Theatre and live on RTVS.
