Our researcher is a finalist for the 2025 ESET Science Award

1minút, 12sekúnd

The expert committee of the ESET Science Awards has nominated our colleague Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Adriana Zeleňáková, DrSc., from the Institute of Physical Sciences, Faculty of Science, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice (UPJŠ), as the finalists in the category “Exceptional Personality of University Education” for 2025.

Adriana Zeleňáková’s scientific research takes place in the world of nanoparticles, which are roughly a thousand times smaller than the thickness of a human hair. Early in her career, she brought experiment to domains that had been the province of theory alone.  Today, Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Adriana Zeleňáková, DrSc., is the head of the Department of Condensed Matter Physics at the Institute of Physical Sciences, Faculty of Science, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, and she educates a new generation of scientists in nanotechnology. In her pioneering research she focuses on the magnetism of nanoparticles with an emphasis on relaxation processes, concentrating on applications of magnetic nanoparticle systems in biomedicine—such as therapeutic and diagnostic platforms—as well as applications of nanoparticles in the energy sector.

The ESET Science Awards gala ceremony will take place on October 9, 2025 at 8:00 p.m. in the Slovak Philharmonic building and will be streamed at www.esetscienceaward.sk as well as on the ESET Science Award Facebook page (and via the award’s media partners: sme.sk, dennikn.sk, startitup.sk)
