The 10th International Scientific Conference for Doctoral Students Theory and Practice of Public Administration 2025

The 9th annual international scientific conference for doctoral students, entitled “Theory and Practice of Public Administration.”
Due to positive feedback, especially from foreign participants, the conference was held online using Microsoft Teams.
A total of 23 doctoral students from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Hungary participated in the conference.
The conference participants were divided into three professional sections led by the dean of the faculty, doc. JUDr. Mgr. Michal Jesenko, PhD., Ing. Eva Výrostová, PhD., university associate professor, and doc. JUDr. Peter Molitoris, PhD.
Doctoral students had the opportunity to discuss current topics and challenges facing our society from various perspectives.

The 8th annual international scientific conference for doctoral students, entitled Theory and Practice of Public Administration 2023 
A total of 26 doctoral students from Slovakia, Hungary, and Ukraine participated in the conference. Conference participants were divided into four specialised sections according to the topic of their contributions.
In the political science section, participants presented contributions focused, for example, on addressing green issues in Slovakia or the influence of the political culture of the inhabitants of the Slovak-Ukrainian border region on local and regional political processes.
The social section provided a space for presentations and discussions on topics such as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on marginalised groups in the Slovak Republic.
In the economic section, participants presented contributions on topics such as waste management and the impact of employing foreigners on the Slovak economy.
The legal sections addressed topics such as current changes in public procurement, the activities of regional councils, and the protection of minors’ personal data in the online environment.

The 7th annual international scientific conference for doctoral students, entitled Theory and Practice of Public Administration.
The conference was attended by 32 doctoral students from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, and Russia. The conference enabled participants to present the results of their scientific research in the field of public administration, which is facing new problems and challenges, especially in the current period of the global COVID-19 pandemic. The conference also provided participants with a space for professional discussion on public administration issues. Participants presented the results of their scientific work in specialised sections focused on the political science aspects of public administration, the socio-economic aspects of public administration, and, last but not least, the legal aspects of public administration. Three sections were created within the conference: political science, socio-economic, and legal, which was divided into two sections due to the large number of participants.

The 6th annual international scientific conference for doctoral students, entitled “Theory and Practice of Public Administration.”
The conference was attended by 33 participants from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Ukraine. The scientific conference aimed to create a space for the exchange of knowledge, presentation of research results, and professional discussion focused on the theory and practice of public administration from a legal, economic, social, and political science perspective.
Conference participants presented papers in four sections. The legal section included contributions dealing with the topics of constitutional protection, the protection of fundamental rights, the exercise of state administration, and local referendums. In the legal-political section, contributions were presented on the topics of public administration, the application of the UN Convention, the concept of smart cities, and other interesting topics. The contributions in the social section focused on workplace bullying, the impact of the pandemic on families with children, the impact of the pandemic on unemployment, and issues related to community centres. The fourth, economic section included contributions dealing with issues such as the welfare state model, the regional impacts of climate change, the management of higher territorial units, civic crowdfunding, and other interesting contemporary issues.
