Award for Best Poster at the NANO2026 International Conference in Genoa

Research on smart magnetic nanoparticles, which offer innovative solutions in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer using nanotechnology approaches, conducted at the Faculty of Science of  P. J. Šafárik University in Košice under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Adriana Zeleňáková, DrSc., was awarded the prize for the best poster at the NANO2026 conference in Genoa, Italy.

A research team from the Department of Condensed Matter Physics at the Institute of Physics  Faculty of Sciencs, UPJŠ in Košice, presented several papers at the international NANO 2026 conference:

  • Lecture, M. Barutiak: UV-C Facilitated APTES Functionalization of Magnetic Nanoparticles for Efficient RNA Extraction,
  • poster, Ž. Fabriciová: Tailoring Fe3O4 Magnetic Nanoparticles through Mg Doping and Surface Functionalisation with Catechol-Based Ligands,
  • winning poster, P. Hrubovčák: Characterization of Functionalized Core-Shell Nanoparticles Using Small-Angle Neutron Scattering
