Computational and network node

Computational and network node provides the essential communication and computational infrastructure, the space for research data and datasets, backup services and an automatisation of computational services. It works in three different modes:

• computational cluster mode,
• cloud mode,  
•  test mode.

Computational and network mode has the following significant features:

• redundant network connection – 10Gb/s,
• 3 air-condition units  (22 kW),
• maximal electric power  – 41 kW,  
• actual available space – 5 from  10  rack cabinets.

• Cisco 4507 – faculty/university science park network node,
•  Cisco 6509 – university network node,
• 16 x Blade x240 M5, 128 GB RAM, 2 x 12-core Xeon 1.8 GHz,
•  4 x Blade x240 M5, 128 GB RAM, 2 x 12-core Xeon 1.8 GHz, GPU Tesla K40,
• Storwize 3700 – 87 TB,  56 TB (RAID 6) available,
• EVA – 28,8 TB,
• tape mechanics HP MSL4048 – 47 tapes LTO4 – cca 0,8 TB / tape (total 37,6 TB).
