Out of a record 274 projects from across Europe, the Slovak technology made it into the top 25 finalists and ultimately took first place in its category, which recognizes innovative projects that deliver new solutions and support the development of European regions.
Holopresence AI technology enables the creation of photorealistic 3D representations of people in real time and facilitates remote meetings in an augmented reality environment. In the past, the Institute of Mathematics at the Faculty of Science, P. J. Šafárik University in Košice collaborated with MATSUKO on the research and development of machine learning and computer vision technologies for the photorealistic reconstruction of people in 3D virtual environments. The team of researchers who participated in this research thus became part of a project that contributed to the development of this innovative technology.
