REGIOSTARS AWARDS 2026

The Slovak project MATSUKO AI Holopresence has been shortlisted amongst the top 25 European projects in the final of the prestigious REGIOSTARS 2026 competition.

The Institute of Mathematics at the Faculty of Science also contributed to the development of the product as part of its collaboration on the project Research and Development of Machine Learning and Computer Vision Technologies for Photorealistic 3D Reconstruction of People in Virtual Environments.

Voting for the Public Award is currently underway, and you can help too. Public voting runs from 3 September to 14 October 2026.

RNDr. Katarína Karl’ová and Assoc. Prof. Jozef Strečka from the Institute of Physical Sciences at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of UPJŠ in Košice contributed to the theoretical discovery of a new type of behavior in quantum magnets.
