Establishing Cooperation with Senshu University in Japan

1minút, 11sekúnd

A visit to Senshu University in Tokyo in October opened new opportunities for collaboration in linguistics and communication between the philology departments of the Faculty of Arts, UPJŠ and the School of International Communication, Senshu University.

Several meetings were held between the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Renáta Panocová, the Bursar of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Dagmar Hvozdovičová, and Prof. Takehiko Maruyama and Prof. Tatsuya Saito, along with their colleagues. These meetings confirmed a shared interest in developing cooperation in both teaching and research. The discussions brought forward several proposals for specific areas of potential joint research.

Prof. Renáta Panocová also delivered a lecture to Master’s students at Senshu University which encouraged broader discussion and sparked the interest of Japanese students in exchange programmes and internships in Slovakia.

The Dean and the Faculty Bursar’s visit to the “Land of the Rising Sun” followed up on the April meeting between representatives of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice and the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic, held at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Japan. The aim of that meeting was to strengthen and expand existing cooperation with Japanese universities. The Japanese hosts subsequently provided the Slovak Embassy in Tokyo with detailed information about the visit of the Faculty of Arts, UPJŠ delegation.
