Research into smart magnetic nanoparticles, carried out at the Faculty of Physics, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Adriana Zeleňáková, DrSc., was awarded the prize for the best poster at the NANO2026 conference in Genoa, Italy.

RNDr. Ivana Šišoláková, PhD., an associate professor at the Institute of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, P. J. Šafárik University in Košice, received the Award in the Engineering Sciences and Technology category at the 10th anniversary edition of the L’Oréal–UNESCO For Women in Science 2026 program.

More than 250 geographers from Slovakia, Czechia and other countries met in Košice for the 4th Joint Congress of the Czech and Slovak Geographical Societies. The event provided a platform for discussions on contemporary geographical challenges, climate change, regional development and the application of geoinformation technologies in research.

RNDr. Katarína Karl’ová and Assoc. Prof. Jozef Strečka from the Institute of Physical Sciences at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of UPJŠ in Košice contributed to the theoretical discovery of a new type of behavior in quantum magnets.
