On 16 February 2023, the Department of British and American Studies FF UPJŠ hosted another year of the Regional Round of the English Language Olympiad for pupils of basic and secondary schools of the Košice Self-Governing Region who successfully passed district rounds of this competition. Competitors, more than 90 this year, competed in 8 categories in written and oral parts. Respective commissions were chaired by teachers of our Department who cooperated with their secondary school colleagues. This event serves to promote our study programmes among the young people that may become a target group of our future applicants and it also aids in maintaining vivid contacts with English teachers working in the Košice Region, among whom this year we already met out own graduates.
