Peter Nezník is an Associate Professor at the University of Pavol Jozef Šafárik in Košice. The domain of his professional interest in history of philosophy, especially modern age philosophy (G. W. Leibniz), is oriented to research the issues from ontology, philosophy of education, ethics, the problem of man, freedom, love, hatred, friendship, philosophy and literature,  Idea humanitas – architects of humanity, philosophy of responsibility.

At the center of his current scientific research is the targeted study and deeper exploration of the history of Russian philosophy through the relationship between philosophy, science and literature. It is mainly about the exploration of the problem of man in the philosophy of Dostoevsky and Nietzsche in in the contexts of the Czech-Slovak and Russian philosophy of the 19th  and 20th  centuries. Some of the most important publications are: G. W. Leibniz: Metaphysical Reasoning of the World as Theatre; Renaissance and Modern Era on the Way to Wisdom and Cleverness: (notes to Leibniz´s project of universal characteristics); Dostoevsky and Nietzsche: Prphet and Martyr…; S. Frank: F. Nietzsche and his Ethics of Love to the Distant and Vec Šestov.
