Are you a student interested in National Scholarship Programme at the Faculty of Arts?

The Faculty of Arts of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice supports the mobilities of international students and PhD students applying through the National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic. You can find more information about the programme on the NSP website. If you are a bachelor or master student interested in NSP at the Faculty of Arts of UPJŠ, find the information below. In order to consider whether the acceptance letter will be issued to you, we need you to submit the application form.

How to apply?

Applying is simple. In order to consider whether the acceptance letter will be issued to you, we need you to:

  • complete the official NSP application form.

Please note:

  • The form can be submitted only once, so please complete it carefully.
  • There is no need to upload supporting documents.
  • No separate email communication or extra paperwork is required.
  • Late applications cannot be accepted.

The application procedure is open from 16 February 2026 to 17 April 2026.

What happens next?

After the application deadline:

  • Eligible applicants will be invited to a short online interview organised by the Department for International Relations.
  • The interview will take place within ten calendar days after the application closes.
  • Applicants will be informed about the results by email.
  • Successful candidates will receive an official Acceptance Letter electronically.

Applications may be submitted online via application form only. The form opens no earlier than two months before the application deadline set by SAIA (Slovak Academic Information Agency), which is normally mid-April for stays in the winter semester and mid-October for stays in the summer semester.

The study plan is included in he application form and must include at least five compulsory or compulsory elective courses from the course catalogue of the relevant department of the Faculty of Arts, UPJŠ. Additional courses from the elective (C) courses may be selected as well. The selected courses can be changed if the course is not open in a particular semester or in the event of a collision of courses in the schedule. It is possible to exchange courses only for compulsory or compulsory elective courses.

Only the scholarship applicants who have submitted electronic application form and who have met the general requirements laid down by the respective departments will be invited to an online interview arranged by the Department for International Relations of the Faculty of Arts, UPJŠ. Online interview will take place within ten calendar days after deadline and will be aimed at verifying an applicant’s language skills. 

Applicants will be informed of the outcome of the selection procedure by e-mail no later than three calendar days before the SAIA deadline. The successful applicants within the selection procedure of the Faculty of Arts, UPJŠ, will receive Acceptance Letter, which will be sent to them electronically.

The final decision regarding the scholarship winners falls within the competence of SAIA.
