The Department of Medical Informatics provides teaching of informatics in all the study programmes at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, Faculty of Medicine. It provides teaching of information systems intended to be used in hospitals, clinics and clinical laboratories, as well as mathematical and statistical medical data processing methods in the selected fields of study.

Scientific and research activities of the Department are aimed at supporting the e-learning, telemedicine applications, employing videoconferencing technologies, development of human motion video-analysis methods, mathematical and statistical processing of experimental data, development and operation of computer network, implementation of the Academic Information System, and implementation of modern information and communication technologies in research, education, and clinical processes realized at the Faculty. The Department also renders audio, video, and photo services.

Online lessons from Medical Informatics and Statistics 2 for students of Dental Medicine (during summer term of academic year 2020/2021) will be held in MS Teams. All students are asked to join the team of course through the Microsoft Teams application. The team registration code will be send to all registered students by email.

Online lessons from elective course Biostatistics for students of General Medicine (during summer term of academic year 2020/2021) will be held in one group on:
Tuesday, 15:15 - 16:45
Teaching of the course will start in the first teaching week. All registered students are asked to join the team of their course by 15th February 2021 at the latest through the Microsoft Teams application. The team registration code will be send to all registered students by email.
After the renewal of the full-time form of teaching, the lessons will continue in the classrooms and will take place in two groups:
Tuesday, 15:15 - 16:45 (max. 15 students)
Wednesday, 12:00 - 13:30 (max. 15 students)

THE LAST RETAKE OF CREDIT TESTS
DM and GM students who did not pass some of the credit tests successfully during the winter semester (did not obtain at least 60%) will retake these tests on 21.1.2021. Detailed information was sent to the students concerned.
