The Department of Medical Informatics and Simulator Medicine provides teaching of informatics in all the study programmes at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, Faculty of Medicine. It provides teaching of information systems intended to be used in hospitals, clinics and clinical laboratories, as well as mathematical and statistical medical data processing methods in the selected fields of study.

Scientific and research activities of the Department are aimed at supporting the e-learning, telemedicine applications, employing videoconferencing technologies, development of human motion video-analysis methods, mathematical and statistical processing of experimental data, development and operation of computer network, implementation of the Academic Information System, and implementation of modern information and communication technologies in research, education, and clinical processes realized at the Faculty. The Department also renders audio, video, and photo services.

Lessons from compulsory elective course Hospital Information System for students of General Medicine (during winter semester of academic year 2022/2023) will be held in one group on:
Tuesday 15:15 – 16:45
Teaching of the course will start in the third teaching week, i.e. 4th October 2022. All registered students are asked to confirm their interest to take in this course by the end of the first teaching week.
