Department of Trauma Surgery was established on April 1, 1954. The Trauma Surgery Department became fully independent on January 1, 1955. The facility was later expanded from the original sixty to seventy-two beds. In 1983, it was expanded to include a septic ward, and the number of beds increased to one hundred.
Clinic of Trauma Surgery was established on June 15, 1986, on the basis of the original department.
In 2014, the Trauma Surgery Clinic moved to the new building of the University hospital L. Pasteur.
Today, the Trauma Surgery Clinic is a highly specialized facility focused on the treatment of acute injuries, including polytrauma, and the management of post-traumatic conditions and complications.
