In April and May, the Faculty of Medicine at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice carried out two activities aimed at supporting the integration and academic development of international students. Both events were implemented as part of the project Audit of the Level of Internationalization and Implementation of Internationalization Projects at Universities and Research Institutions.
The first activity was the Advanced Medical Communication in Slovak Language course, designed for full-time 5th- and 6th-year students of the General Medicine and Dental Medicine study programs.
The aim of the course was to improve students’ language skills in a clinical context and strengthen their ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff.
The second activity was a Preparatory Course in Anatomy and Biochemistry, which helped students deepen their knowledge and better cope with demanding academic requirements.
Both activities proved highly beneficial for international students and significantly contributed not only to enhancing their professional competencies but also to facilitating their successful adaptation to the academic environment in Slovakia. Through such initiatives, the Faculty continues to actively support internationalization and improve the quality of education for students from abroad.
