The Department of Burns and Reconstructive Surgery participates in the undergraduate teaching of UPJŠ Faculty of Medicine within the doctoral study program of general medicine and dentistry in Slovak and English. It provides theoretical and practical teaching for bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in full-time and part-time form. Performs additional training of doctors in pre-certification training in surgical specialties, additional training of paramedics and CAP in the treatment of thermal injuries. The Department of Burns participates in studies and research at the European and global level with a focus on the treatment of thermal injuries, free radicals and densitometry in large burns, lectures and publications in domestic and foreign periodicals.
