On September 9 and 10, the UPJŠ Faculty of Medicine in Košice hosted the Orientation Days 2026. Over the two-day event, first-year students had the opportunity to get to know the faculty, meet their new classmates and senior students, and discover the opportunities available as part of student life at the UPJŠ Faculty of Medicine. The event was organized by the Student Section of the Academic Senate of the UPJŠ Faculty of Medicine in cooperation with the Košice Medical Students Association, the Slovak Association of Dental Students, and the UPJŠ Faculty of Medicine in Košice.
The first-year students received important information about their studies, study programmes, the organization of teaching, and the functioning of the faculty’s individual departments. They were also supported in their first steps in their new environment by Big Brothers & Big Sisters – senior students who provided practical advice and shared their own experiences of student life. The programme also included networking and Medtalks LIVE, which provided an opportunity for first conversations and making new connections. Another highlight was a visit to the Center of Simulator and Virtual Medicine, where the first-year students were introduced to modern medical education and explored technologies that form part of the training of future healthcare professionals.
