The Department of Radiology and Imaging Methods is one of the leading radiology and interventional radiology centers in Slovakia. We provide comprehensive diagnostic imaging and minimally invasive treatments covering the full spectrum of radiology and interventional procedures. The department is also a key center for education and research in the field.

KRaZM is characterized by a strong focus on the implementation of the latest diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, as evidenced by a wide range of unique procedures and international awards. We specialize particularly in endovascular treatment of acute stroke, minimally invasive oncological procedures, and modern applications of artificial intelligence in radiology.

Key achievements and innovations
Artificial intelligence in radiology:

The department is the first in Slovakia to implement advanced AI software for fracture and pathology detection, increasing the accuracy, safety, and efficiency of diagnostics.

Advanced interventional radiology:

Endovascular treatment of acute stroke (mechanical thrombectomy, thrombolysis).

Introduction of CT-guided percutaneous tumor cryoablation – unique in Eastern Slovakia.

Comprehensive management of vascular and neoplastic diseases using state-of-the-art interventional techniques.

Awards and international recognition:

Regular recipient of the prestigious ESO Angels Award (platinum and diamond levels) for excellence in stroke care. The department participates in multiple international studies and registry projects.

Research, education, and international collaboration

The department is actively involved in research projects and participates in numerous international clinical studies in the field of neurological, oncological, and musculoskeletal diseases. We regularly organize specialized trainings and workshops for both Slovak and international physicians. Our staff are frequent speakers at national and international congresses and conferences.
