Research is focused on the application of new mini-invasive surgical procedures and monitoring their results in surgical practice, such as monitoring factors affecting the dehiscence of intestinal anastomoses after laparoscopic colorectal resections. He also studies new possibilities in breast oncoplasty surgery.
The clinic is regularly involved in the solution of VEGA projects, a project is currently being implemented, the aim of which is research and development of hydrogels containing plant extracts and their impact on wound stimulation and healing.
In the field of research of non-specific intestinal inflammations, it monitors the possibilities of surgical solutions with emphasis on the prevention of late complications and recently, as one of the selected centers in Slovakia, the application of stem cells and monitoring their effect on healing inflammatory complications in Crohn’s disease..
