The graduation ceremonies of fresh graduates of the study programmes, General Medicine in Slovak Language, Dental Medicine in Slovak language, General Medicine in English Language, Dental Medicine in English Language, Physiotherapy, Nursing Care and Public Health took place in the Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ  on July 01 and July 02, 2021.

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ prof. Daniel Pella, M.D., PhD. emphasized in his ceremonial speech that medicine is also an art and there will never come a patient to doctor that was showed by teachers or book. From now on, fresh doctors and other health professionals will face a long and never-ending fight against evil and disease. It will show not only the acquired knowledge but also the thinking power of each graduate.
“A power of a clever man is big, but the power of a clever team is invincible. We can expect that the close future of medicine is in computer learning and the use of artificial intelligence. We believe that we will facilitate the studies of future graduates by opening the Center of Simulator and Virtual Medicine, which will be the most modern in the Slovak Republic,” said prof. Daniel Pella, M.D., PhD., according to whom it is necessary to protect the patient even in the teaching of medicine, and modern simulators in preclinical and clinical teaching are an irreversible global trend.
“The Faculty has long been investing extra-budgetary funds gained from study of foreign students to the modernization of education. We are also proud that our Faculty initiated the creation of databases not only in Košice but also in Slovakia and creates possibilities for mutual exchange of experiences with doctors from all over Europe within the HORIZONT 2020 and ECRIN-SLOVACRIN projects,” emphasized the Dean of the FM UPJŠ.
“Today you are standing here, at one of the eldest and best universities of our country, with diplomas which entitles you to perform a medical profession practically all over the world. Many thanks to your teachers, parents, loved ones, friends, and anyone who has helped you achieve this life achievement – even those who have not lived to see this ceremonial moment. Please express your thank to all of them together by great applause,” called the Dean prof. Daniel Pella, M.D., PhD. the fresh graduates on.
