On 14 May 2026, the official opening of a new EURAXESS contact centre took place at Trnava University. The centre will serve as a support and information hub for international researchers, academic staff, and doctoral candidates arriving at the university from abroad. At the same time, it will function as an educational and outreach centre for all researchers engaged in international research activities.

The centre was officially opened by Prof. Miloš Lichner, Rector of Trnava University, and Assoc. Prof. Dana Masaryková, Vice-Rector for External Relations and Cooperation. The event was attended by representatives of ConnecTT – the Foreigners Support Office of the City of Trnava, representatives of SAIA, n. o., and coordinators from Slovak university EURAXESS centres.

Following the official ceremony, participants joined a rich networking programme, which included a guided tour of Trnava’s cultural city centre, a festive lunch at the university canteen at the Rectorate, and inspiring presentations delivered by the ConnecTT Support Centre for Foreigners and the Human Rights League.

This event also marked the first joint networking meeting of university EURAXESS centres in Slovakia, aimed at strengthening cooperation among coordinators, sharing experiences, exchanging best practices, and creating space for future collaboration.

The activity was carried out as part of the project Development and Sustainability of Euraxess Centres in Slovakia, funded by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic.
