Meeting of the Club of Quaestors of Public and State Higher Education Institutions of the Slovak Republic at UPJŠ in Košice

Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice hosted a meeting of the Club of Quaestors of Public and State Higher Education Institutions of the Slovak Republic from 19 to 20 June 2025. The event was organized by the Quaestor’s Office of UPJŠ in Košice and led by Quaestor Ing. Ivan Pezlar, DBA, MBA. The meeting of the members of the Club of Quaestors was officially opened on Thursday, 19 June, in the Grand Hall of the Rector’s Office in the presence of prof. MUDr. Daniel Pella, PhD, Rector of UPJŠ in Košice, who warmly welcomed the participants to the university.

The official part of the two-day working program included a discussion focused on current issues related to the financing of higher education. The discussion covered topics such as the digitization of document circulation, the payment of extraordinary bonuses of €800 to education system employees, the issue of public spending limits, the possibilities for drawing on resources, and the management of balances.

The program for the first day of the working meeting also included a tour of the historic centre of Košice. The Club of Quaestors of Public and Stater Higher Education Institutions of the Slovak Republic then visited the Botanical Garden of UPJŠ in Košice, where questors could enjoy not only the colourful beauty of blooming plants, but also a unique exhibition of butterflies from exotic tropical places.
