From 16 to 20 June 2025, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice hosted an international Staff Week with the participation of colleagues from partner universities from Ukraine and Spain. Participating institutions included Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics and University of Zaragoza.
The week started with an official welcome and introduction of the UPJŠ, during which the representatives of each faculty presented their scientific research activities and study programmes. Subsequently, the foreign participants had the opportunity to present their home institutions.
Throughout the week, the participants had the opportunity to visit departments of UPJŠ in Košice of their choice, thus creating a space for exchange of experiences and strengthening international ties. The programme included a tour of the university departments as well as a visit to the UPJŠ Botanical Garden, for which are thankful to its staff. As part of the cultural programme, we took the participants to the Spiš region, where they visited the historic town of Levoča and Spišská Kapitula. We also introduced the visitors of our university to the Tokaj wine-growing region, where they visited the manor house of Francis II. Rakoci in Borša and and followed through the extensive vineyards and cellars of the Zlatá putňa winery.
We are thankful to the partner universities for their participation and all UPJŠ faculties and departments for their active involvement in enriching this international exchange.
