Biomechanics 2025 and the 6th World Scientific Congress Quality of Life in an Interdisciplinary Approach took place on 22-24 October 2025 in Kochcice, Poland. The event was organized by the Institute of Physical Culture Sciences, Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa, in cooperation with other co-organizers, including the Institute of Physical Education and Sport of UPJŠ in Košice, Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University, and J. E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem. The Institute of Physical Education and Sport of UPJŠ was represented by four employees – Mgr. Agata Horbacz, PhD., Mgr. Alena Buková, PhD., Mgr. Dávid Kaško, PhD., and Mgr. Július Evelley, PhD.
This year’s congress once again confirmed that, despite global challenges, it can bring together a diverse and multidisciplinary community of experts. For the first time in history, two important scientific events were merged – the International Conference on Biomechanics, founded in 1987 under the auspices of the Polish Society for Biomechanics (Polskie Towarzystwo Biomechaniki), and the World Scientific Congress “Quality of Life in an Interdisciplinary Approach”. Their integration represented a significant milestone in the development of both fields and strengthened the links between biomechanics, quality of life, and interdisciplinary research.
The congress was attended by scientists from twelve countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Spain, Algeria, Turkey, Hungary, Italy, and Poland, from 43 research institutions. The event provided a unique space for professional dialogue, exchange of knowledge, and creation of new scientific collaborations, thereby significantly contributing to the development of both research communities and the presentation of the activities of the Institute of Physical Education and Sport of UPJŠ in an international environment.
The participation of employees in the event was funded under the project Audit of the level of internationalisation and implementation of internationalisation projects of higher education institutions and research institutions, Activity 25.2 – Support of international trips aiming to establish and develop international cooperation.
