The Euraxess Welcome Office would like to warmly invite all international colleagues and doctoral students working or studying at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice to join us for a hiking trip to Popradské Pleso in the High Tatras. This is a great opportunity to meet and network with international colleagues from different faculties and departments, enjoy some free time outdoors and experience the beautiful autumn scenery of the High Tatras.
Popradské Pleso is the fourth-largest mountain lake in the High Tatras. It is 17 metres deep and covers an area of 6.88 hectares. A circular educational trail around the lake offers beautiful views of the surrounding Tatra peaks.
Programme
- 6:15 a.m. – Meeting at the railway station
- 6:50 a.m. – Train departure
- 9:00 a.m. – Arrival in the High Tatras
- Hiking trip
- Lunch
- Free time
- 6:00 p.m. – Arrival in Košice
Additional information
An asphalt road leads from the Tatra Electric Railway stop to the lake.
The walk there takes approximately 1.5 hours.
Fee
The trip is free of charge for international university staff and PhD students and includes train tickets and lunch at a mountain chalet.
