Graduation ceremony for graduates of the University of the Third Age

On Wednesday, 11 June 2025, a graduation ceremony was held at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice for graduates of the University of the Third Age.

More than 130 graduates received their certificates of completion of the study in the Historical Hall of the UPJŠ Rectorate in Košice, attended by the graduation committee headed by prof. MVDr. Monika Halánová, PhD., Vice-Rector for Academic Qualifications and Doctoral Studies, Dr. h. c. prof. Mgr. Slávka Tomaščíková, PhD., Vice-Rector for International Relations, doc. Ing. Silvia Ručinská, PhD., university professor, Vice-Rector for Internationalization, and doc. PaedDr. Renáta Orosová, PhD., Vice-Rector for Interdisciplinary Education and Innovation.

The Vice-Dean for Pedagogical Activities, doc. PhDr. Beáta Ráczová, PhD., represented the Dean of the Faculty of Arts at UPJŠ,  Vice-Dean for External Relations, doc. Mgr. Michal Gallay, PhD., represented the Dean of the Faculty of Science, and the Vice-Dean for Education, doc. JUDr. Simona Ferenčíková, PhD., represented the Dean of the Faculty of Law.

The invitation to the graduation ceremony was also accepted by the guarantors of study programs in the field of Digital Technologies in Everyday Life, Mgr. Eva Ružičková; in the field of Law, JUDr. Ivan Kundrát, PhD.; in the field of Psychology, PhDr. Bibiána Kováčová Holevová, PhD.; in the field of English Language, Mgr. Zuzana Kolaříková, PhD., in the field of Medicine – Public Health, Prof. MVDr. Tatiana Kimáková, PhD., in the field of Plants in the Environment, prof. RNDr. Pavol Mártonfi, PhD., in the field of The World Around Us, RNDr. Anna Alexovič Matiašová, PhD. The director of the Center for Lifelong Learning and Project Support, doc. RNDr. Dušan Šveda, CSc., also accepted the invitation to the ceremony.

The graduation ceremony was also attended by family members, friends, and acquaintances of the graduates of the University of the Third Age, who enhanced the exceptional atmosphere of the entire event with their presence.

The graduates of the University of the Third Age are proof that education has no age limits. Their example can inspire not only their peers but younger generations as well. They underscore the value of education and show us that lifelong learning is meaningful and brings new perspectives, joy, and personal growth.

We warmly congratulate all graduates on their success and wish them that the knowledge and new experiences they have gained will enrich their lives.
