As part of the Advanced Protein Biotechnology Consortium (APBC) project, a two-day professional workshop dedicated to modern protein biotechnology was held on August 31 and September 1, 2026 at the TIP UPJŠ Interdisciplinary Bioscience Center in Košice.

Modern mapping using satellites and drones, combined with field research, brought students and young scientists from several countries to Stará Lesná. The IRSSS 2026 International Summer School demonstrated how the University of Pavol Jozef Šafárik in Košice (UPJŠ) integrates geography, geoinformatics, and remote sensing with practical instruction and international research.

The Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice has prepared a research cooperation agreement in cooperation with Bioinova, a.s. (Prague), the subject of which will be a series of pilot experiments with the enzyme chitinase. The research may bring new possibilities of use in human medicine as well as in agriculture and animal production.
