Education week at EXPO 2020 in Dubai with UPJŠ

The EXPO 2020 World Exhibition in Dubai, which takes place from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022, offers space for 192 countries to present themselves in the fields of industry, health, agriculture, knowledge, learning, etc. In the United Arab Emirates, leading universities also presented themselves at the Slovak exposition during the thematic week “Knowledge & Learning” (December 12-21, 2021).

Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice was represented at the exhibition by prof. PaedDr. Martin Pekár, PhD., Vice-Rector for Higher Education, Academic Traditions and Ceremonies, doc. Ing. Jaroslav Majerník, PhD., Head of the Institute of Medical Informatics, Faculty of Medicine, and MDDr. Jakub Jánošík, Head of the Center for Simulator and Virtual Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ. UPJŠ was also represented by a successful graduate of astrophysicists doc. Mgr. Norbert Werner, Ph.D., who is currently working at Masaryk University in Brno after studying for a doctorate at Utrecht University and an eight-year stay at the Institute of Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology at Stanford University.

A total of 65-member delegation of university representatives, established graduates, startups and Slovak inventors is led by MUDr. RNDr. Ľudovít Paulis, PhD. MPH, Secretary of State for Science, Research and Higher Education. The coming days will include the modernization of education in the international business forum on various ecosystems of higher education, with projects for students.
