The leadership of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, in cooperation with the HRS4R Implementation Committee, organized a workshop on 11 May 2026, focused on human resources in the context of implementation of the HRS4R strategy and the OTM-R policy at UPJŠ.
The event brought together staff members from human resources departments as well as representatives of research and science offices from both the Rectorate and faculty levels. The aim of the workshop was to deepen a shared understanding of human resource processes in the research and academic environment and to strengthen coordination among the university’s individual units.
The workshop was jointly led by the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation, doc. Ing. Silvia Ručinská, PhD., who presented the development and individual stages of implementing the HRS4R (Human Resources Strategy for Researchers) strategy at UPJŠ, and by the international expert and evaluator JUDr. Barbora Wahlová, who introduced participants to the OTM-R (Open, Transparent and Merit-based Recruitment) policy. During the discussion, several areas for improvement were identified, and potential measures were proposed to enhance and streamline existing processes.
The workshop confirmed the importance of sharing experience across different units of the university and the need for a coordinated approach to building an attractive, transparent, and high-quality working environment.
