Aim of the project:

The EURIDICE Project (EURopean Inclusive education for Digital society, social Innovation and global CitizEnship) focuses on developing digital competences among students, teachers, and professionals who do not have formal education in information and communication technologies (ICT). The aim is to make advanced digital skills in the fields of education, communication, and culture more accessible, thereby supporting inclusive education in the context of the digital transformation of society.

The main component of the project is the development, accreditation, and pilot implementation of a European Joint Master’s programme (EJM) entitled Digital Society, Social Innovation, and Citizenship, which will combine online and face-to-face learning. This hybrid model will provide flexible and accessible study opportunities for students from different countries while making use of modern digital teaching methods.

In addition to the main Master’s programme, two stand-alone educational modules will be developed, tailored to different target groups:

  • Module for university teachers – focused on developing pedagogical and digital competences, with an emphasis on innovative teaching methods.
  • Module for professionals – designed to provide digital skills to professionals outside the IT sector, enabling them to better adapt to the demands of the digital economy.

Key objectives of the project:

  • Make digital education accessible to non-ICT professionals and enhance their digital competences.
  • Support teachers in integrating digital tools into the educational process.
  • Expand lifelong learning opportunities through modules tailored to professionals working outside the IT sector.
  • Implement microcredentials in accordance with European standards, enabling flexible learning and the formal recognition of acquired digital skills.
  • Connect academia with the labour market through cooperation with technology companies, research institutions, and cultural organisations.
  • Support digital transformation in less digitalised regions and establish new partnerships between universities, industry, and society.

Expected societal impact of the project:

The EURIDICE project will contribute to increasing digital literacy across various sectors of society, particularly among teachers, students, and professionals outside the ICT sector. Through extensive international cooperation, it will improve access to high-quality education in less digitalised regions of Europe, thereby helping to reduce digital inequalities. The implementation of modern educational methods and microcredentials will provide flexible learning opportunities that can be adapted to the individual needs of different target groups.

The project will also foster cooperation between academia and the labour market, enabling a more effective connection between theory and practice and better preparing graduates for the digital demands of the labour market. In the long term, EURIDICE will establish a sustainable model of inclusive education that can serve as an example for future initiatives in the fields of digital skills and lifelong learning.
