On 12 May 2026, the UPJŠ Euraxess Welcome Office organized a working meeting in the large conference room of the UPJŠ Rectorate, bringing together key university staff involved in supporting international researchers, teachers, and doctoral candidates. Representatives from the international, study, legal, and HR departments, the University Library, AIO, and the university units Centre for Information and Communication Technologies and the Institute of Physical Education and Sport took part in the event.
The meeting opened with a welcome address and an introduction to its objectives delivered by the Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Assoc. Prof. Ing. Silvia Ručinská, PhD. Participants were then presented with an overview of the activities of the UPJŠ Euraxess Welcome Office, including current services, upcoming events, training opportunities, and initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation with faculties.
A key highlight of the programme was the proposal to establish a unified registry of international researchers, teachers, and doctoral candidates. This system is intended to enhance coordination, improve transparency, and ensure a higher standard of support for all international colleagues joining UPJŠ.
During the open discussion, participants shared suggestions on simplifying administrative procedures and improving communication between university departments and the Euraxess
Welcome Office. The atmosphere was constructive and solution oriented, reflecting a shared commitment to continuous improvement.
The meeting concluded with a unified pledge to further develop a welcoming and supportive environment for international researchers at UPJŠ.
The event was held as part of the project Development and Sustainability of Euraxess Centres in Slovakia, funded by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic.
