As part of the green benefits at UPJŠ, a database of discarded furniture was established. Through this database, the university offers discarded furniture for donation to charities, asylum centres, primary and secondary schools. This will give these things a second chance, not ending up in landfill, but helping where they are needed.
On Wednesday, July 20, 2022, UPJŠ handed over several items of furniture to the Archdiocesan Charity of Košice, which since 1996 has been organizing public benefit activities in the form of social, health, charitable and educational services and providing various forms of assistance to those who need it. The dedicated furniture was taken over by the head of the technical and organizational department, Ing. Silvester Kotulič.
Students and employees of UPJŠ in Košice can also donate unneeded furniture from their homes. Contact address: zelenauniverzita@upjs.sk
