An informal brunch organised by the UK Embassy to mark International Women’s Day took place on March 8, 2024, between 10am and 12pm in Bratislava. Invited female students from five top Slovak universities, including UPJŠ, were welcomed by the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, H.E. Nigel Baker, and five well-known women leaders from different professional fields:

Ivana Krivošová, Officer, Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic,
Michaela Musilová, astrobiologist,
Katarina Jakubčeková, Director of the Department, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic,
Ľubica Čekovská, pianist and composer,
Dajana Varga Rodriguez, designer and entrepreneur.

Representatives of each university formed 5-member teams and each team was led by one leader. Our students were led by astrobiologist Michaela Musilova. The students competed in a knowledge quiz, which was thematically focused on the topics of women’s leadership, but also general outlook.

The students appreciated the format and the course of the enjoyable meeting, which gave them a unique opportunity to get to know exceptional and inspiring women.
