From May 19 to 22, 2025, students Simona Gibalová (Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ) and Ing. Michaela Lukačínová (Faculty of Public Administration, UPJŠ) represented our University at the European Aurora Alliance conference as delegates of the Aurora Student Council, under the leadership of the Vice-Rector for Internationalization, doc. Ing. Silvia Ručinská, PhD.
Simona Gibalová had the opportunity to represent the Aurora Student Council during the plenary session on the topic: Empowering Voices: Advocating for Students’ Rights Across Europe, followed by a round-table discussion on the topic “University of Tomorrow”:
“It is an honour for me to share the stage at Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC) during the annual Aurora universities conference with other speakers from the ASC. During this session, we reflected on our participation in the European Students’ Union (ESU) meeting and how this experience influenced our work on the Council during the past academic year—from our current membership in the alliance of student organizations within ESU to our work on our own Charter of Students’ Rights.
It was an empowering discussion about the impact we hope our Charter will have on the future of the Aurora universities. We also shared national differences and the challenges we had to overcome while drafting our document.
We discussed further plans for collaboration with student organizations from other European alliances, as well as the need to deepen our connection with local representatives and student organizations at our respective universities. We hope to strengthen these ties in the future and collaborate more intensively to ensure the sharing of best practices across all areas of global higher education.”
