In June 2025, Dominika Kotlárová and Daniela Pillárová from the Faculty of Science at UPJŠ in Košice completed a two-week visit to the USA under the project Audit of the level of internationalisation and implementation of internationalisation projects of higher education institutions and research institutions, Activity 17.1 – Support of participation at international events.
The purpose of the stay was the successful completion of a certified course focused on entrepreneurship and innovation. The course took place in Lafayette, Louisiana, in cooperation with the University of Louisiana and the organization Opportunity Machine. During the program, participants had the opportunity to develop their own startup concept – from the initial idea to its final presentation to investors. The objective was to strengthen the entrepreneurial, communication, and teamwork skills of the participants.
The stay also included the establishment of new contacts, familiarization with the local culture, and visits to several successful companies, which contributed to linking professional development with practice. The stay represented a combination of intensive education and gaining new experiences in an inspiring environment.
