TO THE ACADEMIC COMMUNITY OF UPJŠ IN KOŠICE
The Academic Senate of UPJŠ, in accordance with the Higher Education Act, the UPJŠ Statute and the Principles of Elections to the UPJŠ Academic Senate, as amended, and based on Resolution No. 181 of June 19, 2025, has announced supplementary elections to the UPJŠ Academic Senate for the 2023–2027 term.
Elections to the Academic Senate of UPJŠ will be held from October 20 to October 24, 2025
Candidates for the position of member of the UPJŠ AS for the Joint Electoral District for the student section are nominated in writing by members of the academic community of the faculties to the VaMK (Election and Mandate Board) for elections to the UPJŠ AS by members of the academic community of any faculty or the Rector’s Office or university workplace of UPJŠ,
namely by October 6, 2025, 2:00PM.
Candidate nominations must be delivered in a sealed envelope to the UPJŠ Rector’s Office adressed to: Office of the Academic Senate of UPJŠ, Šrobárova 2, 041 80 Košice, marked “Nomination of a candidate for the position of member of the AS UPJŠ” for the Joint Electoral District.
Candidates may also nominate themselves. Candidates for the position of UPJŠ AS member may run for both the Separate Constituency and the Joint Constituency. A separate nomination must be submitted for each candidacy.
The candidate nomination must include:
a) the candidate’s first name, last name, titles, and the name of the faculty or other part of UPJŠ where the candidate is employed,
b) for employees, the candidate’s position and job classification, and for students, their year of study,
c) a written statement by the candidate that they agree to the nomination; this is not required if the candidate nominates themselves,
d) the first name, last name, and signature of the nominator(s),
e) the consent of the proposed candidate to the processing and disclosure of personal data to the extent and for the purposes specified in Article 6(4) and Article 7(4) and (5) of these Principles; this consent shall also be submitted by a candidate who nominates himself or herself,
f) the name of the faculty or Rector’s Office or university workplace of the proposer
Nominations that meet all the requirements in accordance with the Principles of Elections to the Academic Senate of UPJŠ and are delivered within the specified deadline to the registry office of the Rector’s Office of UPJŠ, Šrobárova 2, 041 80 Košice, will be accepted.
