AHELO – project aiming at the assessment of higher education quality

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) launched the Assessment of Higher Education Learning Outcomes (AHELO) , in which  Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice  is also taking part. This study is focused on the quality of university education and will measure and compare learning outcomes at universities around the world. Therefore 16 countries representing a wide range of cultures and languages are involved in this feasibility study: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Egypt, Finland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Mexico, The Netherlands, Norway, The Russian Federation, The United States and The Slovak Republic.

The quality of university education has been a frequent topic of discussions not only at the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic, but also at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University, hence the opportunity to take part in Ahelo project was welcomed by the management at the university and the faculties’ level.
