On Thursday, November 6, 2025, Peter Pellegrini, President of Slovak republic, appointed 31 new university professors at the Presidential Palace.
In his speech, Peter Pellegrini praised the work and dedication of new professors, whose appointment, according to him, represents not only a personal achievement but also a significant contribution to the development of science, education, and society. “You are among the elite of our academic community. You are one those who have the opportunity to fundamentally shape not only the academic environment but, above all, future generations of students,” said the president, pointing out the importance of education and science for the prosperity of the country.
According to him, science and innovative thinking are the key to our country’s ability to face today’s challenges, from healthcare and technology to social development, and to progress as a modern, open, and educated country. President of the Slovak Republic also highlighted the personal and professional contributions of the newly appointed professors and emphasized their importance in shaping the future of the country.
The following professors from UPJŠ in Košice also received their appointment decrees from the president:
▪ prof. MVDr. Martina Bago Pilátová PhD., in the field of pharmacology for the habilitation and inauguration procedure
▪ prof. Ing. Mgr. Jozef Bavoľár PhD., in the field of habilitation and inauguration proceedings in social psychology and occupational psychology
▪ prof. RNDr. Vladimíra Tomečková PhD., in the field of habilitation and inauguration proceedings in medical, clinical and pharmaceutical biochemistry
▪ prof. JUDr. Peter Molnár PhD., in the field of habilitation and inauguration proceedings in civil law
▪ prof. JUDr. Radomír Jakab PhD., in the field of habilitation and inauguration proceedings in administrative law
