On Thursday, 5 June 2025, Peter Pellegrini, the President of the Slovak Republic, appointed 24 new university professors at the Presidential Palace in Bratislava, in the presence of the Minister of Education, Research, Development and Youth, Tomáš Drucker.
In his speech, Peter Pellegrini emphasized that Slovakia’s greatest asset is its human potential – the knowledge and creativity of its people. It is precisely the effective use of this potential that determines the performance and competitiveness of the Slovak economy, as well as the country’s overall social and civilizational progress and its ability to face challenges and problems. He stressed that the common goal must be for Slovakia not to lag behind at this crucial moment, but to move forward in line with 21st-century trends.
President Pellegrini wished the newly appointed professors success in this new phase of their personal lives and careers, in which their previous experience and expertise will be put to good use. He expressed his belief that this appointment will serve as motivation for the future – both for the professors themselves and for society as a whole.
Two professors from UPJŠ also received the appointment decrees from the President:
prof. RNDr. Miroslava Rabajdová PhD. – in the field of habilitation and inauguration proceedings in Clinical Biochemistry
doc. RNDr. Marcel Uhrin, PhD. – in the field of habilitation and inauguration proceedings in Biology
We sincerely congratulate them and wish them creative energy in their future work!
