On 23 June 2025, an engaging seminar on Open Science was held as part of the ongoing Audit of the level of internationalisation and implementation of internationalisation projects of higher education institutions and research institutions project, bringing together academics and researchers to explore the opportunities and challenges of fostering open, collaborative research environments.

The seminar focused on the principles and practical implementation of Open Science, including open access publishing and data sharing. The seminar was led by Veli-Matti Karhulahti, a senior researcher from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Jyväskylä and the team of experts from the same university. The lectures were focused on anonymization and pseudonymization in qualitative data processing, qualitative and quantitative outputs, techniques of interpretation for translation and analysis of qualitative data, outcome-neutral control in qualitative research, and the praxeology of Open Science.

By embedding Open Science into strategic planning, universities not only align with EU research priorities but also create more inclusive and sustainable academic ecosystems. The seminar served as a reminder that Open Science reinforces the core values of academic integrity, accessibility, and cooperation.

The seminar was part of a broader effort within the Audit of the level of internationalisation and implementation of internationalisation projects of higher education institutions and research institutions project, Objective 10: Workshops concentrating on the career development of academic and administrative staff.
