Unissued diplomas exhibition

1minút, 13sekúnd

From 3 March until 11 April 2025, the Unissued Diplomas exhibition was installed at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. This travelling exhibition of photographs honours the memory of Ukrainian students who did not have the opportunity to successfully complete their studies because they lost their lives in the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Unissued Diplomas is an international project that commemorates the lost lives of Ukrainian students, many of whom worked hard to successfully complete their studies. Tragically, they did not live to experience this significant moment in their lives or see their plans for their future fulfilled. More than 250 exhibitions have been organised in 30 countries around the world, including more than 100 universities. This year, universities and other institutions will present these diplomas all around the world again. At UPJŠ, 40 oversized unissued diplomas were placed on stands traveling across all faculties. The diplomas present the life stories of the deceased students and the tragic circumstances of their deaths. The primary aim of this initiative is to remind our students of the difficult fates of their peers, to highlight the value of education, as well as to underscore that the war is still going on, and the number of innocent victims is increasing daily.

Although this project pays tribute to those who did not successfully complete their studies during their lifetime, by supporting the project you can help those who still have the chance. Read more HERE
