On 15 May 2025, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice (UPJŠ) established a new Commission for the Promotion of Intercultural, Tolerant, and Inclusive Environment at UPJŠ. The commission was created as part of the project Audit of the Level of Internationalization and Implementation of Internationalization Projects in Higher Education Institutions and Research Organizations, specifically within Objective 4 – Support of an intercultural, tolerant, and inclusive environment at UPJŠ, Activity 4.1 of the UPJŠ Action Plan, approved on 16 January 2025.
The commission consists of seven members covering various fields and its main task is to map the current situation regarding interculturality, tolerance, and inclusivity at the university. Based on its findings, the commission will propose initiatives and regulations aimed at further improving and sustaining this environment.
With this step, the university reaffirms its commitment to creating a space where all students and staff feel respected, accepted, and supported, regardless of their cultural or social background in accordance with Strategic goal No. 4 of the Internationalisation Strategy of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice for the 2023 – 2027 period.
